Learn DIY

The first thing that you should do to ensure that you are saving money on your car maintenance cost is to learn a few do-it -yourself tricks that are basic enough not to require the attention of a professional. You do not necessarily require paying someone to change your tire, change the oil or replace easy to handle parts. It is only when you are dealing with intricate parts of the vehicle that you should seek a professional’s hand.

Purchase Genuine Parts

Maintenance cost comes about when the existing parts wear and tear. If only the parts could last longer, then the cost could be lower. The solution to this problem is through the purchase of genuine parts that are recommended by the vehicle’s manufacturer. This means that you will be buying these parts after a long period of time and thus cutting down on the money you spend on replacing the affected parts of the car. Do not be tempted into reducing the maintenance cost by purchasing parts of unknown origin as you will, at the end of the day, realize that cheap is indeed very expensive.

Check Your Car Regularly

There are so many things in your car that need to be checked regularly. The checking is vital and should be regular because in case there is a growing issue, you will have ample time to address it before matters get worse. Check your vehicle’s fluids and replace or add where necessary. Check tire pressure and treads and take the necessary action whether it is filing up the tires with air or replacing the worn out tire.

Take Care Of Your Vehicle

Vehicles might not have emotions but they need tender love and care. This simply means that you should take care of your vehicle from how you drive it to how you clean and park it. Do not drive your vehicle on surfaces that will end up breaking something under the vehicle; avoid over speeding as this might lead to accident or emergency breaking which wears out the braking pads and tires. If it is a manual gearbox, shift with precision to prevent damages. Do not overload your vehicle. Clean your car often to keep rust at bay. With these and a few more caring tips, the maintenance cost will significantly be reduced.
