The New Suzuki Vitara 2015: To Buy Or Not To Buy?
The 2015 Suzuki Vitara is a project that is aimed at competing with the Kia Soul, Renault Captur and others. The competition is purely based on the pricing, amazing on-road dynamics and surprising off-road potential. Looking at the vehicle, you will notice that the construction is a no-nonsense straightforward version that has been created for the family setting but with extra interests. The big question is; to buy or not to buy the 2015 Suzuki Vitara? Well, let us look at some of the features that will let you understand what Suzuki’s newest Vitara has to offer.
Driving experience
Driving the 2015 Vitara is not as smooth as an airplane but it does offer some great comfort for a car. The bumps and dips will be felt but will not get rocky and the corners will not be ponderous. The steering is just right and only those who have to face severe winter conditions and mud need the on-demand 4-wheel-drive ‘all grip’ system.
Engine
Suzuki confirmed that they will offer the 2015 Vitara in two engines, the 1.6 L petrol engine and a diesel version with the same capacity. Both will produce 88kW but the diesel is on the winning side when it comes to torque with its 320Nm against the petrol engine’s 156Nm. Both engines will be fitted with the idle-stop technology for saving fuel.
The petrol version will be available in a manual 5-speed gearbox with the diesel variant getting an extra ratio to make it a 6-speed. The spark engine versions will have an option of an automatic transmission.
Interior
Suzuki is well known for providing durability over plush decorations. This is why the 2015 Vitara is described as straightforward. The interior is more of a functional vehicle which provides all the necessities comfortably. The Dashboard is straightforward with dials that are easy to read. The touch screen covers the infotainment part and is also easy to access and operate although the manufacturer might want to correct some features because the screen can get slow and unresponsive at times. The interior space is adequate such that a tall passenger can sit behind a tall driver without feeling uncomfortable. The boot space is bigger than most of the 2015 Vitara’s competitors.
Exterior
Looking at the 2015 Vitara, you will notice that it has taken the shape of most of the new SUVs and crossovers. The only difference it that it has its own special features that set it aside. The iconic ‘S’ is perfectly placed on the grille breaking the two silver lines and stretched headlamps give the vehicle a posh appearance.
To buy or not to buy the 2015 Vitara
Now that you know a few of the important features that the vehicle will come with, you are in a better position to decide whether Suzuki’s new arrival is a vehicle you will want to buy. It is obvious that the early descriptions might change as the manufacturer conducts more tests so let us just wait and see what hits the market.
